Two Singapore tourists drowned at Crocodile River after canoes capsized
During a river canoe expedition yesterday, 18 June, two adult Singapore tourists, a man and a woman, passed on after an accident involving four canoes on the Crocodile River near Hartebeespoort Dam in the North West Province of South Africa.
3713 fresh water drownings in SA in 5 years
Fom 2016–2021 there were 3713 drownings in South Africa and according to the NSRI this is the highest number of drownings to have occurred in fresh water, dispelling the myth that most drownings occur in the ocean.
