By Bev Mortimer: Armed robbers smashed glass windows of a jewellery store and absconded with precious gems valued at around R3-million yesterday, the South African police says.
The jewel thieves traumatised staff Gabriel Jewellers, in the Eastern Cape town of Jeffreys Bay. Staff were threatened at gunpoint and told to lie on the floor while they looted the shop of extremely valuable jewellery.
