Three men who beat an elderly Addo farmer to death last year have been found guilty by the Grahamstown High Court today, 24 February.
According to Lt Gerda Swart of EC SAPS Communications Uitenhage, Allan Clarke, 62, who lived alone on the farm Sundowner in Sunland, was beaten to death after being abducted from his farm following a robbery on 19 April 2015. After three alleged attackers were arrested, Clarke’s body was found along a gravel road near the N2 in Greenbushes outside Port Elizabet.
The trial of Monwabisi Faku, 23, Lonwabo Pindo, 30 and Ayanda Mzimande, 30, started 15 February 2016 and ended today. All three were found guilty of murder and robbery with aggravated circumstances.
All three will be sentenced on 26 February.
