Clarke’s attackers get life and 20 years imprisonment

The three men who beat an elderly Addo farmer to death in April last year were sentenced to life imprisonment in the Grahamstown High Court yesterday, 26 February,

Gerda Swart from the EC SAPS Communications in Uitenhage says Allan Clarke, 62, who lived alone on the farm Sundowner in Sunlan, was beaten after being abducted from his farm following a robbery. After the three attackers were arrested, Clarke’s body was found along a gravel road near the N2 in Greenbushes outside Port Elizabeth.

Monwabisi Faku, 23, was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and 15 years for robbery with aggravated circumstances. Lonwabo Pindo, 30 and Ayanda Nzimande, 30, were each sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for murder and 12 years for robbery with aggravated circumstances. Sentencing will run concurrently.
