A 50-year-old man arrested for the rape of two boys, aged 11, over a period of time in Patensie, Eastern Cape, appeared in Hankey Magistrate’s Court on 13 November.
The man is linked to two cases and detectives from Humansdorp Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit apprehended him after he was positively identified by victims.
There is also overwhelming evidence against him, a police spokesman from Uitenhage SAP Corporate Communications, said.. A bail was not granted and the case was postponed to 23 November\ for a bail hearing.
The suspect, believed to be from Cape Town, apparently lured his victims with nice ‘goodies’ and at times they slept in his house. The boys are currently undergoing counselling and there is a possibility of more charges being laid against the suspect
