A Jeffreys Bay man was arrested on Friday, 13 November, on charges of dealing in drugs – mandrax and dagga – plus for being in possession of suspected stolen goods worth thousands of Rands.

The 29 year-iold suspect, Houston Williams, is in custody after his court appearance on 16 November in the Humansdorp courts. He will remain incarceration until 25 November or formal bail application
Williams’ residential address in Pellsrus was searched and various electronical appliances and computer equipment was found in his possession. Members also confiscated a small quantity of drugs on the scene. (One mandrax tablet and four ‘bompies’’dagga). Williams was detained on the spot
According to Warrant Officer Gerda Swart of Corporate Communications in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, the arrest follows a three-months long joint intelligence driven operation between detectives from SAPS Jeffreys Bay, Crime Intelligence, Humansdorp and PE K9 Unit and Public Order Police.
The Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brigadier Neil Jantjies praised the team for its sterling work and commended the members efforts in persisting until the suspect was arrested, and for the recovery of stolen property worth thousands of Rands.
