Uitenhage police members arrested two women in their 30s today, 24 June, in connection with malicious damage to property three days ago and the defacing of the South African War Memorial next to Uitenhage’s Town hall.
The arrest were made after valuable information was received from the community, Warrant Officer, Gerda Swart, of SAP Communications in Uitenhage said
The two suspects are due to appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court soon.
Uitenhage Station Commander, Brigadier Leonie Bentley, applauded the sterling work done by the police officials and said: “These arrests will help deter people from committing these types of crimes.”
