Greg Emslie wins the Masters Surfing Champs 2012

Former ASP World Tour campaigner Greg Emslie (East London, Border) won the Masters division of the SA Masters Championships at Durban’s New Pier today.  Emslie powered to victory in the final minutes of the final, beating Gary Van Wierengen (SKZN), Justin Maisch (SKZN) and Mike Frew (KZN) respectively to clinch the title.

Former Cape Town resident and Border representative Tasha Mentasti   clinched the women’s division of the SA Masters Surfing Championships yesterday – See earlier post:

Former Association of Surfing Professionals world number two and defending SA Masters champion Heather Clark  (pictured) (Port Shepstone, SKZN) finished runner up in the Masters Surfing Championships.

Clark was unable to find her usual form to beat eventual winner Tasha Mentasti (Boland) in the wave starved finals. Clark beat Bianca Bosman (Bor) and Julia Rutherford (Zul) into third and fourth place respectively.
