Sea Vista residents fed-up with undocumented foreigners

This morning there was a peaceful march by more than 200 South African residents from the Sea Vista suburb of St Francis to the SAPS police station.

The marchers are against the many undocumented foreigners living in Sea Vista, as this has negatively affected their lives, they say. They are now fed-up and want the SAPS to help remove those without legal papers.

The marchers toyi-toyi-ed, and sang on the way from Tarragona Road to the police station.. See the attached memorandum for all the reasons for the march.
Basically the march was by
the concerned and documented South Africans living at Sea Vista, who are upset by the influx of new residents in the area , who are undocumented foreigners in Sea Vista, and who now form the majority of residents living in the Sea Vista area.

The South Africans marched peacefully and jovially to the SAPS station. There were many police cars and security company cars on the roads, and heavy police presence accompanying the marchers. The organisers read the memorandum out aloud and it was accepted by Capt Qwebe, Station Commander, who appealed to the community to work with the SAPS to apprehend criminals.

The SAPS Sector Colonel also responded and said he noted the concerns. He said the SAPS commits to working with the community to address the ire problems. The marchers then dispersed just as peacefully.
