A Hankey spaza shop owner was shot and wounded yesterday during a robbery yesterday afternoon, 18 February, and was rushed to hospital.
The SAPS says that around 2 pm, it is alleged that at least one armed man entered the shop in Patensie Road, Hankey. The armed man allegedly shot and injured the 34 year-old shop owner. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene on foot.
The owner sustained injuries on his upper body and was taken to the nearest hospital.
Police say they are investigating a case of attempted murder and business robbery, following up on all leads and an arrest is imminent.
