Five people died and one was injured in a collision between two vehicles this morning on the N2 in Thornhill.
The accident happened just before 11 am Lt Gerda Swart from the SAPS Corporate Communications Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, said in a statement this afternoon, 20 February. Traffic on the N2 towards PE was closed while emergency personnel were busy on the scene.
One inured woman was taken to a hospital in PE.
Thornhill police are investigating a case of culpable homicide. The next of kin need to be notified before any names can be released, Swart said.
