The discharge of fireworks is not allowed anywhere in the Kouga region. This is according to a statement received from Kouga Municipality today.
“We appeal to everyone for their cooperation in this regard. Let us work together to make the New Year’s celebrations safe and happy for all,” the municipality said.
Please report offenders to the police.
The public is also asked not to set off Chinese lanterns – they are a fire risk and they also look like red distress flares and result in NSRI volunteers searching in vain for people who they think are in some sort of danger at sea.
