A complete cow carcass was found in the boot of a car in Despatch, Eastern Cape, on Wednesday this week, 30 September.
Three alleged stock thieves, will appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court today, 2 October in connection with the find and on on a charge of possession of suspected stolen stock.
The arrests follows sterling work conducted by members from SAPS Depatch who noticed the vehicle (Mazda 323 Sting) driving in Handel Street 2:30 am with a very heavy load.
The suspects, aged 27, 28 and 32 were immediately detained on
a charge of Act 57/1959 Section 2 – possession of suspected stolen stock.
Investigations will continue to locate the rightful owner.
The Uitenhage Cluster Commander, Brigadier Phillip Salukazana expressed
his gratitude towards the police members and said: “Let us keep up the goodwork in our stive to combat crime and ensure a safe and secure South Africa for all”.
