Daniel Bosman, husband of Roseline Bosman who was murdered in her Humansdorp house, was arrested in the early hours of 14 September in connection with her death.
The arrest of Bosman, 49, follows the earlier arrest of 26 year-old Lunga Soldaat from Hankey. The two arrests were made by Humansdorp SAP detectives following the discovery of Mrs Bosman’s body in her Booysen Street home in Arcadia. The 45 year-old mother had been suffocated..
Mrs Bosman’s body was found on 12 September at 8.45 am by her children. After the discovery, police followed up on leads and arrested Soldaat in Hankey later the same day. Soldaat was allegedly found to be in possession of personal belongings of the deceased.
Both suspects appeared briefly in the Humansdorp court on 15 and 16 September and are being held in custody until their next court appearance on 21 September when bail applications will be discussed. The motive of the murder is unknown at this stage but more arrests in connection with the case are imminent.
Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Celiwe Binta, commended Humansdorp detectives for their nifty detective work in solving the murder of the woman. “This case was solved within days after the murder was committed as a result of dedication to task by the detectives and the use of tested investigation techniques,” General Binta said.
