JBay hijack update

The vehicle belonging to the woman who was hijacked in broad daylight outside Checkers in Da Gama Rd, Jeffreys Bay, on Monday this week, 27 April, was recovered abandoned in Tecoma Street in Wavecrest, Jeffreys Bay, yesterday afternoon, 

In an update the SAP Uitenhage Communications say the  Jeffreys Bay woman in her early 20s was hit on the head about 2 pm, pushed into the car, driven to outside Kabeljous on the R102 road, taken out the vehicle and left behind by the suspects who made off in her car, a VW Polo Vivo.

The police say the woman was earlier approached by three unknown men, requesting some change.  After she opened the car to get her handbag out, the men, allegedly armed with knives. pushed her into the back of her vehicle then drove off. 

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment. She is traumatised and does not want her identity revealed.

A formal case was opened involving hijacking, robbery and kidnapping. Police are searching for those responsible.
