An 89- year-old St Francis Bay woman was tied up and robbed of several possessions, including a flat screen TV last night, 16 July 2014.
The intruders gained access through a bathroom window, having broken the burglar bars off, according to SAP Corporate Communication.
A press statement said police are investigating a case of house robbery after the woman was allegedly overpowered in her residential home at 8 pm last night.
It is alleged the two or three suspects gained entrance through the bathroom window. The suspects tied the victim up and threw a blanket over her head.
They then demanded access to the safe. The woman informed them that she only had money and no safe.
The suspects fled taking the cash and some of the woman’s possessions.
Calibre Security said the woman only managed to inform them of the incident at 2 am and they responded to the scene. The police were later informed.
Police in St Francis Bay are following up on various leads.
