Kouga residents invited to property rates review

Rates policy and by-law to be reviewed

Kouga residents are invited to take part in the review of Kouga Municipality’s Property Rates Policy and By-Law.

 Four workshops will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 24 and 25, where residents will have the opportunity to participate in the review process.

 The workshops will take place as follows:

          * Tuesday, 24 June, at 2 pm at the St Francis Bay Golf Club for residents from St              Francis Bay, Cape St Francis, Oyster Bay and surrounds

  • Tuesday, 24 June, at 6p m at the Humansdorp Country Club for residents from Humansdorp, including KwaNomzamo, Kruisfontein and surrounding farms
  • Wednesday, 25 June, at 2 pm at the Hankey municipal office (learner’s licence exam hall) for residents from Hankey, Patensie, Loerie, Thornhill and surrounding farms
  • Wednesday, 25 June, at 6 pm at the Newton Hall, Jeffreys Bay, for residents from Jeffreys Bay, including areas such as Pellsrus, Aston Bay and Paradise Beach.

 Copies of the policy and by-law can be downloaded from the municipal website at www.kouga.gov.za. Hard copies are available from the valuations office at the Jeffreys Bay municipal offices at 33 Da Gama Road.

 Residents are also welcome to make written submissions. The cut-off date for submissions is 3 pm on Monday, June 30, 2014. Written submissions can be emailed to rvanheerden@kouga.gov.za; faxed to 086 570 2737 or 086 523 8133, or hand-delivered to the valuations office at the Jeffreys Bay municipal offices.
