Prevent power outages
Kouga residents are urged to use electricity sparingly especially between 5-9 pm, as Eskom enters its annual summer maintenance period.
Kouga Executive Mayor Booi Koerat said today (26 February) everyone’s support was needed to help reduce the demand for electricity and avoid power outages during this period.
“We appeal to consumers to use electricity sparingly and use electrical equipment such as air-conditioning, geysers and swimming pool pumps as efficiently as possible in order to reduce the demand for electricity,” he said.
Eskom suggests that pumps and geysers be switched off during the peak periods of 5 pm to 9 pm to assist in reducing demand.
