Residents Association to meet with Provincial government

St Francis Bay Residents’ Association(SFBRA)  representatives will be having a meeting with provincial government officals next week to discuss the town’s bad infrastructure and the recent disasters caused by floods to have hit St Francis Bay.

This meeting follows a letter, entitled ‘St Francis Bay a Disaster Area’, the SFBRA wrote to the MEC of the Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs on 31 July.

In announcing the meeting on Tuesday to be held on September 2012, the SFRBA said  the provincial representatives will able to view at first hand the state of all St Francis Bay areas.  Issues to be  put to them will cover the Sand River Bridge; flooding in Sea Vista and St Francis owing to lack of storm water drainage; and the deterioration of infrastructure owing to lack of service delivery.

The SFBRA says that in the interim the controlled draining of the large dune pool situated above Santareme has begun and will be on-going.
