Lettie is the best boerewors maker in the EC!!
St Francis Bay’s own ‘Boerewors Queen’ , Lettie Rachman, has been officially announced as the Provincial Winner of the Shoprite Checkers Boerewors competition.
This makes Lettie of The Butcher Shop in St Francis Bay ‘the best boerewors maker in the Eastern Cape Province’. She is now through to the Nationals stage of the competition and will wing her way to Sun City in the North West next month to compete in the finals.
A delighted Lettie says it was announced she was 9 points above the runner-up in second place of the provincial stage of the competition held in Port Elizabeth yesterday, 15 September 2012. For her prize-winning boerewors , using her own ‘secret recipe’, she won R3500 worth of vouchers – one from Shoprite Checkers for R2500 and one from Coca Cola for R1500 – plus a cooler box, some All Gold products and groceries from Checkers.
The Shoprite Checkers’ National Finals will be held on 6 October.
St Francis Chronicle joins others in congratulating Lettie and wishing her all the best in her bid to become ‘the best boerewors maker in South Africa’.
Last month Lettie won the regional finals held at Shoprite Checkers at Equinox Mall in Jeffreys Bay for the 2nd year in a row.
