SFBRA complains to Finance Minister

Out of total frustration the St Francis Bay Residents’ Association (SFBRA)   has written to the South African Minister of Finance on the deterioration of infrastructure in St Francis Bay.

This is because it says it received no response from the Municipality or the MEC of the Eastern Cape to whom it also wrote about this issue.

The Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan responded immediately indicating he has handed the issues raised by the SFBRA to his Treasury department to be addressed, the SFBRA says. More details will be released as they become available.

The SFBRA also says its proposed march to the  Council offices on 12 September to complain about lack of service delivery is  specifically aimed at the Mayor and the Municipal Manager. It is not aimed at local municipal officials in St Francis Bay whose valuable contributions are greatly appreciated.

In other news, the SFBRA says this week has been most productive as regards repairing of potholes as well as the temporary repairing of some damaged areas of road beyond pothole fixing.

A significant amount of water has been drained from the top of Harbour Road.

A big thank you has been extended by the St Francis Bay Residents’ Association (SFBRA) to all private individuals and businesses who have taken it upon themselves to assist in the repairing of the roads.  The SFBRA has again has paid for the re-grading of the bend in Tarragona Rd. as well as the bad stretch in St Francis Drive adjacent to the turn-off to Tarragona.  Unfortunately the services of the Humansdorp pothole team cannot be used next week.

Anyone wishing to repair a pothole outside their property can obtain tar through Nigel Aitken (082-465-3719).
