Sand River Bridge still open, pipes being cleared , 10.30 am

The Sand River Bridge is still open to traffic but motorists are asked to drive carefully.

Kouga Municipality has confirmed that the contractor to the Provincial Roads Department (in charge of the R330 road and the bridge) is on site to clear sand and debris from the pipes to minimise the rise of the water level.

The municipality has also announced that the Humansdorp road and the St Francis road to Oyster Bay have been closed to traffic again. The alternative route to Oyster Bay is via Tandjieskraal.

Also the municipality has advised that the planned power outage to sections of Jeffreys Bay has had to be postponed due to the bad weather. The new date will be advertised once finalised.
