St Francis Bay duty crew were called out to assist a 48 year-old Humansdorp fisherman on the chokka fishing boat,Vukane, yesterday evening just before 7 pm. He was suffering from an epileptic seizure, 1.8 nautical miles off-shore of St Francis Bay harbour.
The crew launched Spirit of St Francis II, accompanied by a 24/7 paramedic, and on arrival the fisherman was stabilised, transferred onto the sea rescue boat and brought to the NSRI St Francis Bay Sea Rescue base. He was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
