A 10 year-old,  Michael Birch, is catching some some fine speciments from the deep locally.

However this is much to the chagrin of senior fishermen who are being outclassed by this sprightly lad.

St Francis Bay resident, Nigel Aitken, says he is teaching Michael how to fish. “However, I caught nothing and and young Michael scored a nice Grunter and superb Cob in the Kromme River on Saturday afternoon.

Aitken points out that Michael  also excels at whatever he puts his mind to. “My problem is that whenever he is with me, he catches and I don’t – so much for my years of experience!” Aitken wryly adds.
