Boat capsizes at Kromme River Mouth, couple safe

A local St Francis Bay husband and wife had a good escape today when their cabin boat capsized at the Kromme River mouth.

It appears that while negotiating the mouth the boat propeller sheered off after hitting a rock, causing the boat to be caught in the breaking surf

At 10.45 am  this morning, 9 April, NSRI St Francis Bay volunteer duty crew dispatched  a sea rescue vehicle and launched the sea rescue craft Spirit of St Francis II . On arrival the couple were found safe ashore and their boat was found washing ashore. Both people were uninjured.
NSRI volunteers assisted to recover the boat.
