Uitenhage cops arrest car break-in suspects

Two suspects, 18 and 28, were arrested early this morning for having allegedly stolen wheelcaps, a battery, tools, and other items worth R5000 from vehicles in Uitenhage. 

According to Gerda Swart, warrant officer for SAPS corporate communications, EC, alert Uitenhage cops spotted them carrying a heavy load while patrolling Caledon Street, Uitenhage at 5.20 am, 11 November, 2015.

Upon investigation the stolen goods were found. The two suspects are due to appear  in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court on 13 November, on charges ranging from possession of suspected stolen goods and possession of car break-in implements. 

Uitenhage Station Commander, Brigadier Leonie Bentley commended the two police officials for their alertness and said: “We will continue to arrest and bring those involved in criminal acts to book.” 

Investigations will be conducted to establish as to how many cases the suspects could be linked to.
