NSRI St Francis Bay today, 10 August 2014, evacuated a fisherman from a chokka fishing boat 4 nautical miles off-shore of Port St Francis.
The fisherman was suffering from suspected a dehydration and a possible medical kidney ailment.
Marc May, NSRI St Francis Bay station commander, said at 11.35 am NSRI St Francis Bay launched its sea rescue craft Spirit Of St Francis Ii to met up with Cape town fishing boat Elbe to evacuate the patient.
“On arrival the patient, aged in his late 30s, was transferred onto our sea rescue craft and brought into the harbour at St Francis Bay where Private Care Ambulance Service has transported the patient to hospital in a stable condition for further treatment,” May said.
