“Absolutely awesome!” was the overall verdict of this morning’s Easter egg hunt at St Francis Links!!
The joy on kids faces and on those of their proud parents, plus the excitement and euphoria of finding an egg – and lots – was delightful to watch. Kids ran around gaily and with speed diving into the bushes to scratch for eggs and let out whoops and yells causing a great cheerful noise. The mood was infectious, with many adults wishing they were tiny tots again!
SuperSpar St Francis Bay and St Francis Links teamed up again this year to hold this annual event. And the weather played ball as it is a lovely, warm sunny day here in the Eastern Cape.
The kids were divided into two age groups and had different areas to hunt for eggs in the bushes. Many were hoping to catch a glimpse of the elusive Easter bunny in the bushes but to no avail. There was one big white Easter bunny though who was hugging all the kids who weren’t too shy or afraid of him.
There must have been about 400 people there (adults and kids) and Super Spar provided more than 500 marshmallow chocolate eggs for the kids, plus coffee and muffins to the crowd. The Links played a grand host by providing the venue for this fun occasion.
After the hunt there was more fun as some lucky kids who found the most, plus some of those who found the least were able to get bigger chocolate eggs as prizes. Plus one lucky man won a giant Easter egg in a raffle to take home to his family. Excellent entertainment and organisation all round!
