Early morning shoppers to SuperSpar St Francis Bay today were overcome by a most moving tribute to the hero of the African liberation struggle and the most loved man in South Africa and the world, Nelson Mandela.
Spar staff stood in sombre silence for a few moments around a table with a mantle depicting Mandela, beautiful flowers and a lone candle. They then started singing the national anthems.
And this was a moving moment for both them and onlookers.
Spar staff working today said they are thankful that they were given this moment to say farewell and pay their respect on the day that Mandela is laid to rest, 15 December 2013, at Qunu in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
