News Flash!! News Flash!! Land-lines go dead in Kouga today

Most land-lines in the Kouga area of the Eastern Cape – from Hankey, Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis  – are not working, or working intermittently today.

It is believed there could be a fault with or perhaps theft of optic fibre.

Land-line phone owners were not able to receive calls or phone out since about 10 am this morning. The dial tones were restored to many phones around 2.30 pm today but technicians were still trying to determine the cause of the fault and whether the problem had been totally sorted or not.

A spokesperson for Telkom believed the problem had something to do with optic fibre.
