The R102 between Mondplaas (the Gamtoos bridge) and Jeffreys Bay has been closed to traffic due to a massive veld fire raging between the N2 and R102 towards the sea.
The N2 was closed earlier today but has been opened for traffic again.
Fire-fighters from Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Hankey and St Francis are fighting the blaze. The Cacadu District Municipality has also sent vehicles and fighters to the scene.
