To pee or not to pee.. that is the question in Urinetown.
The title of this musical may cause some sniggering but the subject of where to go to the toilet affects the daily livelihood of the inhabitants of Urinetown – the title of a satirical musical produced by students at Woodridge College. The students have been hard at work practising for the production of the ’musical show that wil be held from 25-28 July 2012 at the College.
Besides satire, the musical encompasses comedy, sustainable living and love. It has a delightful musical score to keep feet tapping. After 20 years of drought people in Urinetown are not allowed to go to the toilet for free. They are charged ever rising rates by a corrupt company. Revolution is on the cards…
The musical will be performed in the Woodridge Hall at 7.30 pm each evening preceded by a light supper. Chicken curry and rice will be on offer before the show at 6 pm. Curry and rice is R30 per contianer and hot dags are R10 each.
