Excitement on Cape St Francis’ main beach is already mounting as the two days of action Beach Cricket is about to start.

Already sufers are gathering around, the car park is filling up and the weather is also playing ball by serving up a stunning day. Today and tomorrow there will be two days of cricket and fun with one of the Eastern Cape’s top cricket teams… the Chevrolet Warriors!!.
This is one of the top highlights of the sporting calendar for St Francis this festive season. To be run by the Chevrolet Warriors cricket team for the first time in St Francis, the Beach Cricket will take place between 18-19 December.

Cash prizes and cricket merchandise can be won during this event by teams and individual players. Entry is free.
The cricket games begin at 10 am daily and until the end of play each day.
Cricket lovers are invited to make up their own teams and participate in this of cricket summer fun. There will be 12 teams of six players per day (24 teams playing over two days). Those who cannot form teams can just rock up and register and they will be placed in a team.

Approval has been granted by Kouga Municipality for this exciting sport’s event on our shores. This local event is one of five similar events planned for the Eastern Cape. Other beaches where it will be held during this festive season are at East London, Kenton on Sea, Port Alfred and Port Elizabeth.
Last year the event was a huge success at all venues. This year it was decided to bring the event to St Francis and give local and visiting cricket lovers a treat during their annual holidays.
