Cob Creek MTB through the wine lands
Cob Creek Wine Estate will hold its first Cob Creek Adventure Race on 17 December 2011 just outside Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape.
So, if you have a mountain bike, some running shoes and a sense of fun and adventure, then this is for you! This is a day for young, old, extremely fit, the reasonably fit, supporters, family and friends.
The race will take participants through the vineyards and adjacent farmlands and will introduce the De Vine restaurant located on the Estate that will provide food for the day. The route consists of an approximate 15km mountain bike followed by a 3 km Trail run or hike.
Some interesting (and sometimes wet) activities can be expected along the route. The Rookie Course (for the not so fit) will be one lap (MTB + Trail) while the Adventure Course (some average fitness required) will do two laps of the course.
The 17 December is sure to be an amazing day for participants and for supporters. There will be a jumping castle for the young ones and delicious food and drinks on sale throughout the day. The event will be hosted on the farm at Cob Creek Wine Estate on the Saturday of a long weekend that is traditionally the start of the holiday season.
Cob Creek also recognises its social responsibility towards the community and has nominated the Joshua Project (a registered NPO looking after homeless children) as the beneficiary of the funds generated through the entry fees.
