Greg’s yacht Gulliver has been found

The yacht Gulliver, owned by Greg West from St Francis Bay and abandoned at sea in a sea rescue operation last month, has been found washed up on the shores an Eerste Rivier farm.

The four crew members of Gulliver were rescued off  Cape Infanta near Witsand on 15 June. Skipper Greg West, 60, his crew Frans Sprung, 76, Shaun Kennedy, 34, (all 3 from St Francis Bay) and Mike Morck, 64, from Knysna, huddled for several hours in a life raft before they were found after Gulliver capsized  (see original post:  https://stfrancischronicle.wordpress.com/2011/06/16/greg-west-shaun-kennedy-and-2-others-rescued-from-capsized-yacht/)

NSRI St Francis Bay and NSRI Oyster Bay volunteers discovered  parts of Gulliver  on the rocks after responding to a distress call about a yacht reported to have run aground.

The yacht had been missing at sea since the rescue of her crew. The yacht is mostly broken up with extensive damage and NSRI St Francis Bay and NSRI Oyster Bay volunteers are salvaging as much as possible from the yacht on behalf of the owner.
Police and the owners have been informed.
