Three Eastern Cape skateboarders, including one from Jeffreys Bay, will be comepeting in the SA finals of the Red Bull Manny Mania in Johannesburg later this month.
The national winner will wing his way to New Your to participate in the World Finals in August. .
Gareth Sierra of East London came out on top at the EC qualifier for Manny Mania 2011 at Element Park in Jeffreys Bay. He, along with Mark Stoutjesdyk of Port Elizabeth and Damen De Clercq of Jeffreys Bay will be heading to Johannesburg to compete against other participants selected from two more qualifying events across the country as part of the largest international event for amateur manual skaters.
The winner of the national final on June 26 will be flown to New York City on an all expenses paid trip to represent South Africa at the Red Bull Manny Mania World Final for amateurs on August 20, 2011. The winner of this event will get a chance to step into the big leagues by competing in the invite-only Red Bull Manny Mania Pro Event, on Sunday, August 21 in New York City.
