The South African Police Service (SAPS) detained five women, who were carrying R5-million drugs concealed in their sneakers, underwear and private parts on Saturday this past weekend at OR Tambo airport in Gauteng Province.
The SAPS says it worked closely with the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA). A report suggested the women were going to China en route via Dubai and a search of the women led to the discovery of the drugs.
The suspects suspects are expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate Court tomorrow, 31 March, on charges related to drug trafficking.
