An 18-year-old foreign national was arrested in connection as a suspect in connection with the brutal murder of a 4 year-old boy in Walmer yesterday, 22 March.
According to reports at about 1:45 am SAPS members responded to a murder scene at a residence in Tshanga Street, Walmer location where the lifeless body of a four year-old foreign national was lying in a pool of blood inside the house.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the child was sleeping in a separate room with his older brother. The parents reportedly became concerned and went to check and they found him covered in blood.
They immediately contacted the police for assistance and the latter arrested the 18 year-old teenager at the premises. The motive for the incident is currently unknown and forms part of ongoing investigations.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court during this week.
