R1-million raised for local St Francis charities

A R1-million cheque was handed over to Rotary in St Francis Bay in the Eastern Cape of South Africa by the annual ‘Ballie’s’ fundraising event for charity, held at the Billy’s Beach on the evening of 2 January 2026 , for the Rotary Club of St Francis, to use for local charities.

An amount of R900 000 was raised through the door sales at this event and the organisers of the Billy’s Beach New Year’s Eve function and other music evenings in the last week of 2025 added in another R100 000 to make the total of R1-million for the local Rotary organisation.

Rotary annually raises funds and makes donations to needy charities in the area.

St Francis Chronicle and Kouga Chronicle congratulate Billy’s Beach, Rotary St Francis Bay and all who bought tickets that helped raise this fantastic amount for good causes!
