6 pm. 23 September, edited – Six teenagers have been arrested following the fatal stabbing of an 18 year-old matriculant at Humansdorp Senior Secondary this morning at about 8.15 this morning.
This is according to the Eastern Cape SAPS who said the six suspects – four aged 16-17 and two aged 18 – were traced and located near the gravel road leading to Oyster Bay. The six were questioned and detained this evening on a charge of murder.
The police recount that about 8:15 am a violent altercation at the school among learners left one learner with stab wounds. The 18 year-old boy was declared dead on the scene.
Five suspects ran away but were eventually caught on a field this evening around 5pm
The four youngest teenagers will be processed to appear in the Children’s Court, while the other two will appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 25 September, on a charge of murder, the SAPS said.
