St Francis Bay’s Spit is closed to the public

St Francis Property Owners’ Association (SFPO) has closed St Francis Bay’s Spit to the public. No one can walk on the Spit because it is now a construction site for the SFPO’s ‘Long Term Coastal Protection Scheme’.

The Spit area is closed from Aldabara Run side, from any houses in the area, from the Ski Canal jetties and the Kromme River Mouth.T here is now a construction vehicle access road along the crest of the Spit, and the entire Spit area is a construction zone, the SFPO says.

Anyone alighting from their boats at either the Kromme River Mouth, on the current sandbank there, or at the two Ski Canal jetties can no longer walk onto the Spit.
