Edited by Bev Mortimer: Thornhill detectives, Komani Crime Prevention, and Provincial Traffic officials acted swiftly to arrest of three men who are allegedly stole church property and a vehicle.
The SAPS says on Monday , 28 July, this week the men, aged between 21-18 years-old, broke into Peace House Church at Phakamisa Locality, Thornhill Administration Area.
The suspects allegedly stole two desktop computers, two laptops, two cell phones, and a music system. They hen loaded stolen items into a church vehicle and fled away in it. The crime was discovered the following morning and a case was immediately opened at Thornhill SAPS.
The station commander swiftly mobilised resources calling on the support of Komani Crime Prevention and Provincial Traffic to assist in tracking down the suspects. Yesterday, Tuesday, 29 July the suspects were arrested at 4 pm on the R67 road between Komani and Whittlesea.
All the stolen items, including the church vehicle, were successfully recovered during the arrest.
The three suspects are expected to appear before the Ntabethemba Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and business burglary.
