CSF lighthouse climber in hospital

A man who decided to climb the Cape St Francis Lighthouse landed up in hospital on the weekend.

The man believed to be in his 30s and from Port Elizabeth (name withheld) apparently climbed up the Seal Point lighthouse in the early hours of yesterday morning, 26 June.  He fell and it was suspected that he had sustained a spinal injury and broken jaw among other injuries.

He was taken to St Georges hospital by ambulance. This hospital has confirmed his admittance and said he was in a ‘stable’ condition.

Anyone who has any further info, please contact me.

Meanwhile some residents have already called for more strict security at the lighthouse to prevent this kind of thing happening again.
