Woodridge Preparatory will be hosting its third 20/20 Cricket Festival for primary schools on Saturday and Sunday 26-27 January.
The festival aims to involve children in the shorter form of the game at the beginning of season and to enable coaches to make fair and honest selections. A total of 5 matches per school are played over the two days with the emphasis on ensuring participation by all in the various teams as well as enjoyment of the games.
Some of the Woodridge cricketers seen above are: Liam Oberholster, Thian Meiring, Caelan Mattheus, Chris Yerolemou, Fritz Arndt, Shannon McTifffin, Stephen van Niekerk, Mikhail Lindoor, Tristan Farrell, Jonas Andrews, Nick Yerolemou and Kayle Russell.
It is not a tournament and there is no winning team. Competitive participation and a healthy respect for the game is encouraged.
OLA Ice-cream have kindly come on board and are sponsoring what has become a rather popular festival.
Teams taking part in this years’ festival are:
Woodridge Preparatory
St George’s Prep
Muir College
EP U/11 – Invitational development team
EP Zonal – Invitational development team
Herbert Hurd
Knysna Sports School
Clarendon Park Primary
