Don’t miss Digby and the Lullaby on 17 November

Don’t forget Digby and The Lullaby on 17 November !!

This popular duo are coming back to the Eastern Cape to perform two shows for their home town audience.

“We are doing one show in my hometown of St Francis Bay and one in Rouchelle’s hometown of Uitenhage” says Darren while Rouchelel says she is so excited to be doing a show in her home town for the first time.

There are still some seats left for their performance at Five Elements, St Francis Bay. Bookings essential at: 042 294 0868

On piano and lead vocals, Rouchelle Hubsch plays and sings with a haunting depth of emotion that far surpasses her young age. As an only child, Rouchelle found the piano a profoundly rewarding companion. Now 22 years old and writing more than ever, Rouchelle has been performing live for just over two years and the experience shows.

On guitar and backing vocals, Darren Peens fell in love with music when he was just 6 years old these days, armed with a Dictaphone a note pad and an acoustic guitar, Darren never stops creating and loves sharing the stage with his “favourite singer in the world”.

Collectively influenced by anyone with tons of heart and a great song, Digby and The Lullaby thrive on intimate performances. The theatre is this band’s first choice of venue. “It makes our connection with the audience so real and tangible,” smiles Rouchelle.

Digby and The Lullaby have just finished tracking their debut album in New York with producer Kieran Kelly (Angus and Julia Stone, Sufjan Stevens) they are aiming for an early 2013 release.

Live performances to date include shows at The Chaplin in Port Elizabeth, Googies in New York and the prestigious Hilton Arts Festival in Durban two years running – where extra seating had to be put in after their first performance. Ralph Piaden (the Fleur du Lys’ theatre manager) commented that they were ‘the most complimented act’ in his theatre throughout the festival.

“The joy of hearing these two stays with you long after you leave. After just a few minutes you will be hooked and leave wanting more and yet feeling full and sated. Be profoundly affected in the best possible ways.  Miss something else; don’t miss Digby and the lullaby!” says Graham Ward – (Drummer, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Ray Charles)
