11-13 October:

Robyn D’arcy Dance School  is presenting  ‘La Couleur’ 2012 at Mentors Country Estate. (11-13 October. Evening performances at 7 pm each night.  Also a Matinee performance on 12th at 2 pm.  Cost per ticket: R70 per adult, R40 per scholar. Tickets:  042 294 1052.

13  October:

Kids Activities at the Heritage Centre from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm. Yvonne Bosman will be talking about birds. Then there is a kite making sessions. There may even be a chance to fly the kite creations at Granny’s Pool (weather permitting).

17 October:

Heritage Centre:  Tiny Tots Activities. Theme: Wildlife. Kid will be learning about tortoises and turtles from 2.30 pm. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Fundraiser in aid of animals at the SPCA

24 October:

 Heritage Centre Trivail Quiz and Fun and Friendship from 2,15 pm.  Four contestants per table.    Pool your thoughts with your team members and collectively answer the questions in an endeavour to win first prize!    Bev Howard will be the quiz master.  There is limited space so please book early so as not to be disappointed.  You may either make up your own team of 4 or give your name to Bev and she will allocate you to a table. 25 October:

Wine and Beer tasting evening between 7 -9 pm at Shenanigans, Legends new beach party pub. The event is to raise funds for Adrolene Vena to go on her trip to South America as part of the Rotary Club exchange program.  Tickets: R100 p/p includes cocktail on arrival and snacks.

26 October:

 Shipwwreck Party at St Francis Bay Ski Boat Club. Dress; Shipwreck theme.. Tickets: R100 p/p includes a 2-course meal and a lucky draw. To gain entry:  Produce your ticket, walk the plank and receive a glass of punch. Tickets available from: Ski Boat Club. Karen: 0766890422; Lyn: 0826321236

29 October:

Trivia Evening: 7. for 7.30 at St Francis links. Event held by Ukupha as an SPCA Humansdorp fundraiser. Tickets R120. Bookings Tel Caroline on 083 229 9017.

3 November:

Annual SuperSpar Pam Golding Quadrathlon. The 5th annual Quadrathlon will start and finish in the small canal boat harbour. This event is for all ages and abilities especially school and junior teams, families and friends.

 Entrance can be in teams of 1-4 participants. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories U13, U16 and Open; also in the U10 and U12 shorter races.  The main race includes a 3km canal paddle, 12km cycle, 500m canal swim and 5km run.  

The shorter route for the U12s includes 1km paddle, 5km cycle, 300m swim and 2km run.  For the U10s there will be a Duathlon consisting of a run/ walk and cycle.

 Every participant will receive a certificate for taking part with bronze, silver and gold medals for the best boy, girl, mixed team and male/female individual in each category.  

Entry is R50 p/p on-line, R60 on the day.  U12s pay R25 online or R30 on the day.  U10s pay just R20p/p.   Online entries must be received before midday on Thursday 1st November.

Registration can be done online at  http://www.stfrancisbaysupersar.co.za. Late registration can be done on the day 11am-1pm.

As in previous years, the SSPG Quadrathlon is proud to be supporting NSRI and Disneyland Creche.

Prize giving will be at 5pm with live music and refreshments on sale throughout the day.

In previous years the competition between schools has created a fantastic atmosphere and the organizers are looking forward to seeing even more youngsters and families join in the fun in this, the 5th year of the event.

23 November:

The Balobi MTB Day and Night Ride – to which all cyclists in the community are invited. is at  the Port.  Teams of up to 3 will have to see who can complete the most laps in 60 minutes.  The day ride will start at 6 pm.  It will be followed by the more serious night ride at 7:30 pm.

24 November:

The Port Hole MTB Fun Race for all under 12 cyclists will take place at 9 am, following the same route as the night ride. 

25 November:

The 2012 St Francis MTB Challenge at St Francis Links with the 80km, 35km and 15km distances to choose from. The 80 kms will start at 8:30, the 35km at 8:45 and the 15km at 9 – all in the morning, giving cyclists from afar the chance to get here without a rush.

The entry fees are: R150 – 80km, R100 – 35km, R40 – 15km; R20 – 5km (under 12s only); Day and Night ride R60 per person. Online entries will open on 5 September on http://www.stfrancissport.co.za until Thursday 22 November at 12:00.

The first 100 online entries will receive a free T-shirt. is Late registration at the St Francis Links between 7-8 am on race day.  Numbers are limited owing to the sensitivity of the area.

Prize-giving for all races will be at 12 pm at the Club House. The first thee positions (male and female) in the main 80 km event will receive prize money and medals to all finishers. Lucky-draws will be up for grabs.

This is a CSA sanctioned MTB race and CSA rules apply. Cyclists doing the 35km and 80km races will need their CSA licenses or take out a day license. Positions will be awarded according to CSA age groups.

St Francis Links is also offering a golf special for cyclists on Saturday. Accommodation can be booked through St Francis Tourism.
