Residents from Hankey are warned not to drink water from their taps.
There’s been a breakdown in the canal system that supplies water to the town, according to a press release from the Kouga Municipality this morning.
“The municipality is now pumping water to Hankey from a dam but this water is not safe for drinking! Residents are advised to boil the water first before they drink it.
“The municipality is busy making alternative arrangements. The municipality will inform residents once everything’s in place.”
